If It Was Me

I wouldn’t be rude to anyone the way others are, thinking that being rude can control someone. I wouldn’t lie to anyone like those who defend themselves using false phrases. I wouldn’t cheat anyone the way some friends—or even love—can. I wouldn’t discriminate between urban and rural lives. I wouldn’t be disrespectful or misbehave, especially when someone trusts me enough to recommend me—for a workspace or elsewhere. I wouldn’t offend others like different generations often do. I wouldn’t bring self-discrimination into my life. I wouldn’t body-shame myself or chase artificial ideals that don’t fit me. I wouldn’t try to be someone else or shape my life around someone else’s path. I want to live as who I truly am. I will never adopt attitudes that make my life unhealthy. I will never falsely accuse someone of being a bad secret-keeper. I will never place someone’s problem on another person who has nothing to do with it. I will never take advantage of someone’s innocence or skills to make...

Vulnerable

Simple things, you made complicate

What have you done, to earn this hate?

Those few words uttered great sinful deeds,

Yet forever will heal the scar that bleeds

Words remain longer, lingering deep

Troubles our mind, then haunts our sleep.

Know how things stand, before you speak

For words alone could make the other weak.

We're all human, completely flawed,

Unaware of the plans God has stored.

Too late to fix what's already broke

In the grave you dug, the demons awoke

There's no excuse for causing pain

Yet forgiveness can cease the ceaseless rain

Acceptance, patience and all good things

Is a promise that growing maturity brings

Commit the sin, face the consequence

For the person you hurt, took offense

What's broken inside, the outside conceal

The harder you pushed, the longer to heal

It's not the smoke that triggers the fire

Blame the wind, the flames expire

Time would mend, what therapy couldn't

Think before you do what you shouldn't

Douse the flames before the fire starts,

For we're all given fragile hearts
