If It Was Me

I wouldn’t be rude to anyone the way others are, thinking that being rude can control someone. I wouldn’t lie to anyone like those who defend themselves using false phrases. I wouldn’t cheat anyone the way some friends—or even love—can. I wouldn’t discriminate between urban and rural lives. I wouldn’t be disrespectful or misbehave, especially when someone trusts me enough to recommend me—for a workspace or elsewhere. I wouldn’t offend others like different generations often do. I wouldn’t bring self-discrimination into my life. I wouldn’t body-shame myself or chase artificial ideals that don’t fit me. I wouldn’t try to be someone else or shape my life around someone else’s path. I want to live as who I truly am. I will never adopt attitudes that make my life unhealthy. Teacher Par Excellence

The brightest light in the darkness

Her wisdom and guidance priceless,

Meandering through obstacles

She guides us safely across hassles and hardships

With love and passion; a beautiful friendship.

She is a teacher less and everything more

Countless roles in her life she plays----Encore!

A judge; A peer; A counsellor,

I wonder if you're an angel in disguise

The significant roles you play my words don't suffice.

My dearest teacher you may be

But also a friend I can guarantee,

Your soothing curve makes me gay,

As a facilitator your radiance glimmers the class

With a snap you make problems dance!

We follow the light through a forest of darkness

It leads to you and you offer us solace.

Yet another paramount role you play,

A soft, sincere healing nurse

No words can express your divinity; not even this verse.

I know teachers are the agents of Wisdom

But you're a Queen who rules a Kingdom!

Your role a queen as well an explorer,

You dive into oceans to quench our thirst for pleasure

Bravo! You're our hero; our treasure!

You earnestly strive for learning to flow

Like honey and music in tow!

A smile like no other blossoms your face,

Hats off to all my dear teachers

Your sacrifices no King can feature!
