En route to Mushreems Arts
Hey guys and today in this article I am going to
introduce my ever-loved artist and myself. Without any hesitation, I would like
to introduce myself first here. I am Hafsa Rizvi and I am studying at Muslim
Ladies College, Colombo 04. I am proceeding with my Advance level with Arts
stream following the year 2022. I am a passionate girl in the IT technical
field and being an editress too. Reading books, editing, trying codes and
programming are some of my hobbies that I would say. Yes, now you all might be
wondering, ‘Hey Hafsa, WHO IS THE ARTIST?’ Without any further suspense, let’s
introduce our amazing cute Artist, Reema Sahly. Reema is a very good friend of
mine and I met her at Muslim Ladies College, Colombo 04. She too does Advance
level by proceeding with Commerce stream following the year of 2022. We both
are the same batch and that’s an inquisitive part over here. She introduces
herself as the 'art kid' who would scribble on the corners of any surface. She
is 18 and she goes by the name "mushreems" on Instagram, which is
where she shares most of her art.
So, Reema has shared about her journey with me. Let
me quote it to you all. “Honestly I don't think have a specific talent. I just
do what the hand says, as it flows across the canvas making beautiful strokes,
and eventually, a painting is created. I don't even know what I'm doing half of
the time. I've always been one with nature so I enjoy painting landscapes of
pretty views, lots and lots of flowers, and astronauts aka "space
doods". I've come to realize that I like working on miniature art than
larger canvases. The smallest was an 8.5 × 5 cm tiny painting. My mum and uncle
were very creative and knew their way around a pencil. I guess that's where I
got my art genes from. Yet I'm more of a self-taught artist. It started with
scribbles and doodles. That was until I discovered watercolours in 8th grade. I
don't remember buying them though. Eventually, I stopped sketching with pencils
and moved on to paintbrushes and boy did I fall in love with them. It was only
a few years ago when I found out about acrylics, which is now my favourite
medium. People always appreciated my art so I never knew how to handle
criticism. Even lesser, when it came from my own family. That was until I
realized it was constructive criticism. It helped me look at my paintings from
a different perspective and pushed me to make positive improvements. Honestly,
I don't hate it anymore. The other thing I used to struggle with, was social
media. Sometimes I post art I'm super proud of and it ends up getting way less
exposure than I expected. But now, I don't allow it to bother me. I create art
for myself, that's all that really matters”.
Finally, in the present situations of her talents, she says that currently, she is obsessed with acrylics and painting flowers. She also does custom artwork on canvases. If you check out her Instagram account @mushreems along with the post and videos, I would say, IT IS AMAZING AND EYE CATCHING! When I first saw her art it was very impressive and the art described a lot of ideas. I will be attaching the Instagram video link of her art here: https://www.instagram.com/p/CEJYthEBv0p/?utm_medium=copy_link
Hope you all would enjoy this amazing hard work!
